Introduction
MK-CHESS is a forming voluntary community group supporting home educating families in Milton Keynes. MK-CHESS is being set up and managed by home educators as an extension of MK-CHEF (Milton Keynes Christian Home Education Fellowship). We will be meeting weekly in a hall (contact us for details) to provide fun and engaging educational activities for our children. We welcome membership from families who home educate their children.
Our vision:
MK-CHESS aims to provide an alternative resource to mainstream education for home educated children of all ages. By working together as a group, using the skills and resources of all our members, we can present engaging activities which reflect the variety of interests & abilities of our children and the many ways in which people learn.
Funding:
At this time, we are maintained only by membership fees and donations, but we hope that it may be possible to secure external funding in the future to provide activities and support that are beyond our means, whilst not compromising our alternative educational principles

Please think about what ideas, skills and resources you may have to offer, as that enables us to provide a diverse and exciting collection of activities for the children.
You can fill in an activity planner at a session or alternatively print one here and hand to the activities co-ordinator at the next session.

Membership
Membership of MK-CHESS is open to all home educating families. There are two membership options.
Members - Full members who commit to coming regularly and pay the annual membership fee have guaranteed places at each session, as well as other benefits including reduced session fees. Membership is charged at £15 per annum.
Guest Members - Guest members are welcome, but space is limited and subject to booking. Full session fees apply.
If you wish to join us, please print out the Constitution documents and registration form. These documents form the membership pack and contain information about how we run our organisation and what is expected from our members.

Booking
Please let us know by Friday at the latest which activities your children would like to participate in, by contacting the Activities Coordinator. This helps us to purchase any resources necessary.
